UK CBAM Compliance Services

The UK Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) comes into force on 1 January 2027. If your business imports carbon-intensive goods into the UK, you will soon face new reporting requirements and carbon levies. Preparing now is essential to avoid supply chain disruption and financial penalties. Our expert team provides comprehensive UK CBAM compliance services to help you navigate the new regulations with confidence.

What is the UK CBAM?

The UK CBAM is a new environmental tax designed to ensure that highly traded, carbon-intensive products imported into the UK face a comparable carbon price to those produced domestically. It aims to prevent 'carbon leakage', where emissions are simply moved to countries with weaker climate regulations.

From 2027, importers of specific goods will be required to report the embedded emissions of their imports and pay a levy based on the UK carbon price.

Which sectors are affected?

The UK CBAM will initially apply to imports of the following carbon-intensive commodities:

  • Aluminium

  • Cement

  • Ceramics

  • Fertilisers

  • Glass

  • Hydrogen

  • Iron and steel

If your supply chain relies on importing any of these materials, you must prepare for the new reporting and financial obligations.

How our CBAM compliance services help

Navigating new carbon taxation can be complex. We simplify the process, ensuring your business is fully prepared for the 2027 rollout.

Supply chain assessment We analyse your current import data to determine your exposure to the UK CBAM, identifying which products and suppliers fall under the new regulations.

Emissions data collection Accurate reporting requires precise data. We help you establish robust processes for collecting embedded emissions data from your international suppliers.

Financial impact modelling We calculate your projected CBAM liabilities based on current import volumes and forecasted UK carbon prices, allowing you to budget effectively.

Strategic mitigation We work with you to identify opportunities to reduce your CBAM exposure, such as sourcing lower-carbon alternatives or optimising your supply chain.
