Chris has been helping customers reduce their carbon emissions for over 20 years - completing energy audits, identifying energy reduction opportunities, reporting greenhouse gases and energy compliance reporting for ESOS and SECR.
Introducing Net Zero presented new challenges for our customers, particularly with the new terminology, and the measurement of carbon emissions through science-based targets. Chris studied the Net Zero guidance to a level that established him as a Net Zero expert. Chris’ insight and understanding of how customers need to report their carbon emissions have been influential on the continued development of our carbon accounting platform and accreditation.
Chris is our “go-to” expert, mentoring customers through the development of Net Zero road maps and educating them on the complexity of science-based targets. Chris has an unflappable calmness, and his combination of personality and experience delivers trust for our customers. Chris can explain complex information in a language that our customers can relate to and understand.
Chris has made a positive impact with Trident customers. For example, he played an integral role in the delivery of Abri Housing Partnership's Net Zero road map, which included hosting a series of carbon workshops to identify the measures and outcomes required to start driving down their scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions.
95% of Abri Housing emissions are scope 3.
Chris has researched the housing market in detail, identifying how Abri’s emissions relate to Science Based Targets, GHG Protocols and British Standard PAS 2060 requirements. Abri Housing Partnership is delighted with the work and the partnership approach taken.
Chris has developed Trident’s approach to the carbon workshops, identifying key learnings for attendees and educating them on the steps that can be taken to maximise carbon savings through implementing consistent measures.
Trident, with Chris’ lead, has led by example. Through our carbon cutting measures, including digital meetings, introducing hybrid company vehicles, and moving into modern energy efficient offices, we cut our monthly carbon emissions by 92.68% in August 2022.
In addition to his Trident work, Chris has advised on carbon reduction measures for a number of Trident clients.
Chris is our Net Zero Hero, being Trident’s first member of staff to purchase a fully electric vehicle, proudly driving around in his VW id3. Chris is a keen cyclist, preferring to travel under his own steam where it is practical to do so.
The winners will be announced on the 30th of November during the awards ceremony at the iconic IET building in Manchester. The Trident team will be in attending and cheering for Chris. Good luck Chris and well done!
